STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
 

 

Our Mission Statement:

 
  To become more effective in reaching people with the Gospel and nurturing them to maturity in Christ, by reforming, equipping, and inspiring the local churches, dioceses, and agencies of the Anglican Church in Victoria

To see a "Gospel Culture" develop among Victorian Anglicans

 
     
  Our Strategy:  
  

  1. To develop a stronger culture of prayer:

  
   How:   
  
  • encouraging a greater commitment to prayer in local congregations
  
  
  • promoting models, ideas and occasions for communal and individual prayer
  
  
  • promoting a culture of prayer
  
  Actions:  
  
  • develop and use an e-mail prayer support network
  
  
  • encourage prayer about specific ministry needs
  
  
  • inform supporters about EFAC ministries and providing specific prayer points at EFAC gatherings
  
  
  • disseminate 'good news' and answers to prayer
  
  
  • schedule prayer time at AGM and other EFAC gatherings
  
  
  • promote the use of prayer models
  
        
  

2. To encourage and further the development of strong evangelical ministry in local community based churches of all sizes:

  
        
   How:   
  
  • encouraging effective and relevant disciple making which recognises the cultural environment in which local churches are ministering
  
  
  • fostering training opportunities for lay leaders
  
  
  • making available the EFAC Training Officer as an advisor to parishes
  
  
  • developing networks of local parish leaders to facilitate the sharing of ideas and resources through cluster, mentor and specialised groups such as the Evangelism Resource Group and the Pastoral care resource Group
  
   Actions   
  
  • Recognise and affirm the role of the EFAC Training Officer/s
  
  
  • resource that role through stipendiary ministry
  
  
  • encourage parishes to take advantage of the EFAC Training Officer/s as a resource to assist them when seeking new staff
  
  
  • provide adequate financial and human support to EFAC Training Officer/s
  
  
  • encourage an expanding role for the EFAC Training Officer/s
  
  
  • promote information about smaller local congregations through regular EFAC publications
  
  
  • encourage the development of cluster and mentor groups to facilitate the sharing of ideas and resources
  
        
  

3. To recruit, train, & foster women & men of clear evangelical conviction for the ordained ministry, missionary service, school chaplaincy & other full-time ministries:

  • affirming evangelical women and men in ministry
  
  
  • intentionally supporting and encouraging women in leadership and in ordained ministry
  
  
  • encouraging Large Multi Staffed churches to support and resource smaller developing evangelical congregations through partnership schemes or by other models of ministry assistance
  
  
  • promoting the ministry of Ridley College
  
  
  • continuing the ministry of the EFAC Training Officer/s
  
  
  • promoting a culture in our youth and student ministries that challenge both men and women to the call to full-time ministry, and in particular, within the Anglican Church
  
  
  • identifying and training evangelists
  
  
  • providing leadership and support to Large Multi-staffed churches to improve team skills for both voluntary and paid staff
  
   Actions:   
  
  • provide opportunities for ministry support and development for curates, associates, priests-in-charge, incumbents, chaplains and bishops
  
  
  • develop networks to encourage the ministry of evangelical men & women
  
  
  • post position papers on women's ordination on the EFAC web site
  
  
  • encourage Large Multi Staffed churches to provide placements for curates
  
  
  • encourage local congregations to identify and foster people with appropriate gifts to offer for ordained, and other, full-time ministries
  
  
  • continue to engage, develop and facilitate the services of the EFAC training officer/s
  
  
  • mentoring and providing supportive placements to evangelists
  
  
  • provide opportunities for ministry support and development for curates,
